Allahabad HC advises district courts against passing arbitrary order that may hurt reputation
While granting immunity from detention, the Division Bench of the Allahabad High Court, comprised of Justices Dr. Kaushal Jayendra Thaker and Justice Ajit Singh, stated that all judges of the District Courts should be more cautious and refrain from passing orders that could bring the judiciary system in the State into disrepute.
In this case, the Petitioner, Dr. Hargovind Singh, who is the Chief Medical Officer and is in charge of vaccination services during the Covid-19 pandemic, has been the subject of criminal proceedings stemming from the impugned FIR, in which it was alleged that the Petitioner had issued a false medical certificate to an MLA in order for the MLA to avoid physical appearance before the Court in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic.
