All you need to know about Ukrainian Refugee Crisis

  • According to the UN, over 2.5 million refugees have fled Ukraine since Russia's attack on February 24.

  • Officials and the UN anticipate the number of casualties to rise as the Russian army continues to advance greater depth into Ukraine, especially as it nears Kyiv, the country's capital.

  • "We really have to commend the Poles here just because they're dealing with a massive urban refugee reaction," UNHCR spokesperson Matthew Saltmarsh told journalists in Geneva via video link from next to Poland's boundary with Ukraine.

  • The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) documented 2,504,893 refugees on its dedicated page, which is 188,891 almost as much as the prior tally on Thursday.
