The Indian EAM S. Jaishankar is all set to play his cards of maximizing the country's gains in the world affairs
Jiahsnkar met with his Qatari counterpart and discussed the growing concerns of terrorism and the need of extending humanitarian assistance to Afghan citizens
Further, he will move to the Philippines and Australia for a six-day visit. In Canberra, Jaishankar will be attending the first-ever in-person foreign ministers meeting of the QUAD group
“The Ministers will review ongoing Quad cooperation and build on the positive and constructive agenda announced by the Leaders at the two Summits in 2021, to address contemporary challenges such as the COVID pandemic, supply chains, critical technologies, climate change, infrastructure etc,” the MEA said.
The summit is aimed at setting the ground for upcoming QUAD leaders to meet somewhere in Summer 2022
The ministers will try to bring a coherent strategy of tackling regional challengers in the Indo-Pacific and develop it as a free and open region. Further building supply chain resilience and signing of vaccine pacts are also probably on the agenda list
