All that you need to know about PM's meeting with J&K parties
Top leaders of parties from Jammu and Kashmir today met PM Modi at his residence in Delhi, after a meeting was called by him to discuss matters related to the now, Union Territory- after the abrogation of Article 370.
Fourteen mainstream Jammu and Kashmir leaders from eight political parties took part in the meeting- which aimed at setting the course for the political process in the region- which has been under President's rule since the abrogation.
Although the full details of the meeting are not revealed, the alliance of seven J&K parties: Gupkar Alliance was looking to push forward the demand for full statehood to the region and a special status.
Home ministry officials have stated that since the terrorism in the region is low, given the pandemic, this also deems fit as the right time for starting the political process in the region.
