Akhilesh rules out alliance with major parties for 2022 UP Assembly elections

  • On Sunday Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has ruled out any possibility of an alliance with either of the major parties like BSP or Congress for the upcoming 2022 Assembly elections

  • Further, during the press conference he said that he was more interested in adjustments and sharing seat with smaller parties including the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) founded by his estranged uncle Shivpal Yadav in 2019.

  • Moreover during the recent by-elections to seven seats in Uttar Pradesh, PSPL did not field any candidate, triggering speculation that it was on course of a particular with SP. Last week Shivpal Yadav has said that “Our priority is an alliance with the SP”
