Airtel and Google sign $1 billion deal
Google and Airtel have entered into a collaboration with each other further to accelerate the growth of India’s digital ecosystem.
Google has planned to invest up to the U.S $ 1 billion to create Google for India Digitalization Fund, including equity investment.
Through its first commercial agreement, the two companies will extend offerings to Airtel covering Android enabled devices.
The agreement will be likely to remove barriers to smartphone ownership.
Airtel uses Google’s 5G ready Evolved Packet Core and Software Defined Network platforms to extend Google’s virtualization solutions.
