Ahmadis suffer at hands of Pak Police personnel
For years Ahmadis being numerically a minority in the Sunni dominated Pakistan have suffered violence and persecution at the hands of the Majority population
Nearly 50 graves belonging to the Ahmadis have been allegedly desecrated by police and Muslim clerics for using Islamic symbols on gravestones at a cemetery in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a member of an organisation representing the minority community said on Monday
Notably, in 1974, Pakistan's Parliament had categorised Ahmadis as Non-Muslims
They are banned from preaching and from travelling to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage.
