Ahead of West Bengal polls, Mamata Banerjee announces benefits
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced a set of promises for the residents of the states ahead of 2021 West Bengal legislative assembly polls.
Ms.Banerjee announced free tablets for senior students to facilitate their online education, benefiting around 9.5 lakh students.
Further, the state government has also proposed a 3% hike in the Dearance allowance (DA) of the state government employees starting next month. This move will cost the state exchequer Rs 2,200 crore.
CM Banerjee has also announced a drop in the prices of the RT-PCR test for Covid-19 from the previous Rs1,250 to Rs950.
Notable, the legislative assembly polls in the state of West Bengal are due in April-May of 2021, which are expected to see a tough fight between BJP and TMC.
