After court terms their strike as 'illegal', 3,000 doctors resign in MP

  • As the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday directed the junior doctors on strike to resume their duties within 24 hours, the doctors continued to defy the orders and about 3,000 junior doctors resigned from their posts.

  • This came after the court termed as the junior doctors' four day strike as 'illegal'. The junior doctors began their strike on Monday to have their demands fulfilled and now will continue it till their demands are fulfilled.

  • Their demands to the state government, include a hike in their stipend, free treatment for them and their family members if they contract Covid.

  • Their association further stated that the MP government had said to rise their stipend by 24% and there still hasnt been any action regarding that.
