Afghanistan heroin seized at Gujarat port

• Officials stated on Monday that three tonnes of heroin worth ₹19,000 from Afghanistan has been seized at Gujarat port.

• The heroin was being transported in two containers which were marked as carrying talc. Two men have also been arrested.

• One container is said to have been carrying 2000kg of heroin and the other container was carrying 1000kg of heroin. The containers originated from Afghanistan and were being shipped from a port in Iran to Gujarat.

• Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has stated that searches in relation with the containers have been conducted in Ahmedabad, Delhi, Chennai, Gandhidham and Mandvi in Gujarat.
