Afghan envoys families now a target of Taliban?

• In a major development the daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan was kidnapped and severely tortured.

• Silsila Alikhil was on her way home when she was seized for several hours and "severely tortured", the Afghan foreign ministry said in a statement, without giving more details of Friday's abduction in Islamabad.

• Pakistan’s foreign ministry has filed a complaint and the Pakistan ambassador to Kabul was summoned by government.

• Notably Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as labelled the incident as “top priority” and has directed the officials to resolve the issue within 48 hours. Kabul has time and again accused Pakistan of providing safe havens to Taliban insurgents.
