Activist Stan Swamy who was arrested in Elgar Parishad Case; denied bail
Stan Swamy, a tribal rights activist arrested in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist connection case, was denied bail by a special NIA court in Mumbai on Monday.
Stan Swamy, 83, was denied bail on both merits and medical grounds by Additional Sessions Court Judge DE Kothalikar.
Stan Swamy, a Jesuit priest and protester, was detained in Ranchi in October 2020 and is currently being held at the Taloja Central Jail in Navi Mumbai.
Stan Swamy, according to his attorneys, has Parkinson's disease and has lost the capacity to hear with both ears. He also has a variety of other diseases.
