Acknowledge journalists as 'frontline workers': Plea in SC

  • A petition has been filed with the Supreme Court, asking for urgent instruction and/or suitable instructions to recognize journalists as "front-line warriors" and to establish rules for providing journalists with the required medical care.

  • Dr. Kota Neelima, a researcher and the Director of the Institute of Perception Studies, filed the petition.

  • During the COVID19 epidemic, the petitioner requested free treatment for journalists at government hospitals as well as walk-in immunizations.

  • The petitioner also asked for a directive designating all journalists and media personnel as "frontline fighters," allowing them to take use of the advantages available to all such workers.
