When: Tofana was well known among the women in 1633-1651, and admitted to being responsible for the death of over 600 men.
How: It is believed by many that Tofana’s mother, who was executed for murdering her own husband in 1633, passed down the recipe for the poison to her daughter.
End: After admitting to killing so many men, Tofana was executed in 1659, along with her daughter and other close associates.
