About the discovery of dolphin assassin

• A video was put up by Hamas on 10th January in which a spokesperson for the Palestinian Al-Qassam brigades, which is the military wing of Hamas, claimed that the group had discovered an Israeli assassin dolphin off the coast of Gaza.

• It was alleged by the spokesperson in the video that the dolphin had been trained by Israel’s military to chase and kill Hamas’ frogmen.

• The spokesperson further went on to state that a gun-like device was found attached to the aquatic mammal.

• Upon hearing the claims, experts concluded that while dolphins can and have been used for military exercises in the past, this claim should be viewed with scepticism.
