A smashing start to the day as India wins 4 medals at Tokyo Paralympics! A Gold, 2 Silvers, 1 Bronze

  • Day 7 of the Tokyo Paralympics had a banging start for India as shooter Avani Lekhar clinched a Gold medal women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 event on Monday. She had a total score of 249.6 in the final.


  • Adding to the joy, Indian discuss thrower Yogesh Kathuniya clinched the Silver medal in the Discuss throw event in final F56 category. He acheived a best attempt of 44.38m to clinch the medal.

  • In the Men's javelin throw event, India bagged two medals as Devendra Jhajharia has also won a Silver medal in the men’s javelin throw and Sundar Singh Gurjar added a Bronze medal in the event.
