
A 100-year-old is being prosecuted for his war crimes during the Nazi period
• A 100-year-old man, who has not been named due to German privacy laws, is on trial in Germany for Nazi war crimes.
• The man has been charged with “knowingly and willingly” assisting in the murder of over 3500 people as a former camp guard at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
• He is not the only elderly defendant on trial for Nazi war crimes. Irmgard Furchner, who is 96-year-old, was about to go on trial last month but was his trial was delayed after Furchner fled from her care home.
