900 employees fired by CEO over Zoom call

• Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of US-based mortgage provider company Better.com Vishal Garg fired 900 employees of his over a Zoom call.

• The incident took place on Wednesday and in a recording of the video, Garg can be heard saying, “If you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off. Your employment here is terminated effective immediately.”

• On the call Garg said that this is the second time in his career that he is doing this and the last time he cried after doing so.

• Garg can also be heard stating that the staff performance and productivity and the market changes are the reason behind the mass-firing of 15% of Better.com’s workforce.
