• Thieves recently stole 15,000 lemons said to be weighing approximately 750 kgs from an orchard in Bithoor, Kanpur.

• A complaint has been filed by the owner of the orchard, Abhishek Nishad.

• Nishad stated, “We did not have security and it was never required because this area is conducive for citurs cultivation and almost every houshold has an orchard. But, now we need guard,”

• Farmers have now hired lathi-wielding guards to keep their produce safe amidst the sky-rocketing price of the citurs fruit which has now made it as precious as diamond and gold.
