
68% voting in Punjab elections. Read all details
The Punjab legislative assembly elections which took place on February 20, witnessed a voter turnout of 68%.
This turnout was significantly lower than the previous round of elections in the state in 2017. The previous elections witnessed a turnout of 77.63%.
Among the lowest turnouts was in Amritsar, including Amritsar East which had the most high-profile faceoff, between the Congress’s Navjot Singh Sidhu and the Akali Dal’s Bikram Singh Majithia. The turnout in the constituency was a mere 53%.
