54% turnout for 2nd phase of Bihar polls

  • The second phase of Bihar legislative polls held on November 3 saw a voter turnout of 54%. The second phase of polls involved polling for 94 seats of the state across 17 districts.

  • Though the whole voting process was largely peaceful in the state but there were certain reports of EVM malfunctioning.

  • Yesterday's polling in the second phase of the elections was the largest elections to be held during a Pandemic, as stated by Election Commission Secretary-General Umesh Sinha.

  • Reportedly, this polling was slightly lower than the first phase, which saw a voter turnout of about 55.6%.
