52-year-old doctor donated plasma 9 times

• Dr. Srikanth V from Bengaluru has donated his plasma to covid patients nine times since being tested positive in August last year.

• He regularly donated convalescent plasma with his hospital’s blood bank.

• He said, “I was mildly symptomatic when I turned positive in August 2020. Since then, I have been donating plasma once every 3-4 weeks. The spike protein antibody test result has been greater than the prescribed limit. Plasma donation does not diminish a person’s covid antibodies.”

• One unit of donated plasma measure 200 milliliters and can be used for two patients which means that Dr. Srikanth has donated his plasma to 18 patients so far.

• He has been a regular donor since the age of 18 and has donated his blood and blood products 75 times.
