43 ministers sworn in as West Bengal cabinet

  • Forty three ministers as part of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's cabinet were sworn in today in a first ever virtual swearing in of ministers.

  • The cabinet includes 25 incumbent faces, that is, those who have remaine ministers in previous terms as well and includes 18 new and fresh faces. The cabinet includes nine female ministers.

  • In a first ever virtual swearing in, two ministers were sworn in virtually- one was Amit Mitra who had not been keeping well and the other Bratya Bose, who has been recovering from Covid-19.

  • The swearing in comes as Governor has sanctioned a CBI inquiry into the Narada sting operation case, which interestingly has the name of the two ministers sworn in- Subrata Mukherjee and Firhad Hakim.
