4 terrorists killed in early morning encounter by security forces

  • 4 terrorists belonging to the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-mohammed were killed in an encounter by the security forces early Thursday morning. The encounter took place on the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, near Nagotra this morning.

  • A policeman was injured in the course of the encounter, during the cross-fighting. The Police chief said that the terrorist were likely planning a 'big attack' as they were headed with arms to the Kashmir valley.

  • The encounter took place around 5am on Thursday morning after the truck that the terrorist were travelling in was intercepted by the security forces, when they got to know of their presence at the Ban toll plaza in Nagotra.

  • A large number of weapons-11 AK-47 rifles, three pistols and 29 grenades, were recovered from them. The forces had also appealed to the terrorist to surrender, but they instead, started with firing, after which four were killed by the forces.
