The Brief Bulletin Staff2 Lakh Jobs Added In IT Sector Since 2019: Ravi Shankar Prasad
On Thursday, while replying to multiple questions in Rajya Sabha, the IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad informed that more than 2 lakh jobs have been added in IT sector since 2019.
He also informed that presently the IT sector contributes 8% to India's GDP.
"The IT sector has contributed 8 per cent in the country's GDP. A total of 46 lakh people work in it, which include 14 lakh women. After 2019, two lakh people have got jobs in the IT sector," he said.
To one of the questions, he answered that government intends to lay BharatNet in the villages all over India within the next 1000 days.
