The Rajya Sabha has suspended twelve members from the winter session of the Parliament for frequent tumult during the session. The suspended members are from Congress, CPI, CPI-M, Shiv Sena and Trinamool Congress.
The suspended members include Binoy Viswam (CPI, Rajamani Patel (INC, Dola Sen (TMC), Shanta Chhetri (TMC), Syed Nasir Hussain (INC), Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena), Anil Desai (Shiv Sena), Akhilesh Prasad Singh (INC) 1. Elamaram Kareem (CPM), Phulo Devi Netam (INC), Chhaya Verma (INC) and Ripun Bora (INC).
Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu expressed his unhappiness over the tumult in the previous session. The suspended members expressed their opposition to the decision as unfair,
unjust and defended their actions in the house.
Both the houses turned out to be noisy on Monday after discussions surrounding the. repeal of the three farm bills.
The members were removed after the Parliamentary affairs minister Pralhad Joshi moved a resolution for the suspension. The motion has been adopted by vote.
The house has been adjourned till tomorrow.
