12 BJP MLAs suspended in Maharashtra for abusing assembly speaker

  • As the Monsoon Session of Maharashtra Legislative Session began, 12 BJP MLAs were suspended for a year abusing and manhandling the Speaker-in-chair.

  • The incident which took place in a cabin, was claimed to be as ‘false allegations’ by Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, who was also present during the ruckus.

  • The BJP stated that it has created an uproar to highlight the OBC issue today and alleged that the Speaker -in-Chair intentionally didn’t give them enough time to speak.

  • The matter took place after the session was adjourned. Speaker told that "The Opposition leaders came to my cabin and abused me using unparliamentary language in front of Devendra Fadnavis and senior leader Chandrakant Patil. Some leaders even manhandled me.”
