  1. Popularly knowns as 'Netaji', Mulayam had 3 degrees in Political Science.

  2. He was born in a poor farmer's family & wanted to be a wrestler.

  3. Mulayam Singh Yadav was 8-time MLA, 7-time MP & 3 time CM of Uttar Pradesh.

  4. He became MLA at the age of 27 years in 1967.

  5. In 1996, Yadav came close to becoming the PM. He was upstaged by the H.D. Deve Gowda, who emerged as consensus candidate of the United Front (UF) coalition government.

  6. He then ended up served as a Union Minister in H.D Dewe Gowda led government.

  7. He was jailed 9 times during different agitations for the protection of rights & welfare of farmers, labourers, youth, students, minorities, backward classes.

  8. Mulayam also became the President of Lok Dal (people's party) in 1977 & that of Janta Dal in 1980.

  9. Singh founded Samajwadi Party in 1992.

  10. Socialist by Ideology, Singh was under guidance of Ram Manohar Lohia and others.
